Paul A. Murdock

Paul A. Murdock, PT 

Paul is a 1986 graduate from the SUNY at Stony Brook Physical Therapist program.  In 2003, Paul established his own orthopedic and sports medicine clinic at Cupertino Physical Therapy. 

Prior to moving to the west coast, Paul held positions in the Washington DC metro area including Senior Cardiovascular Therapist at Washington Hospital Center and Director of the Virginia office of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Center for outpatient orthopedics. 

Paul is a graduate of the Kaiser-Hayward Physical Therapy Residency Program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy and has taken numerous postgraduate professional courses.  He was a tutorial facilitator for Marymount University’s Masters Physical Therapist program in Virginia, and as a credentialed clinical instructor Paul has also had the pleasure of teaching physical therapy students.

Paul uses a broad spectrum of treatment styles in his practice including techniques from Australian and Osteopathic schools.  He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1984. 

Paul lives in Sunnyvale with his wife and their 2 daughters. He enjoys hiking, cycling, and marathon running.  He continues to take courses in Mandarin.

Anne Ahlman, M.P.T.

Anne Ahlman, MPT

Anne graduated from the Master’s program in physical therapy at the University of California at San Francisco in 1992. She joined Paul in his practice at Cupertino Physical Therapy in 2004, bringing extensive experience from a wide variety of patient care settings including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, geriatric rehabilitation, and home health care.

Over the years, Anne has been a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and has taken numerous postgraduate professional courses. With a background in medical research, Anne also works as a medical writer designing continuing education courses for health professionals. She has edited medical textbooks and published an assortment of articles. Anne is currently the physical therapy editor for Today in PT magazine, a Gannett Healthcare Group publication.

Anne utilizes a comprehensive range of therapeutic methods in her approach to patient care, and individualizes treatment to each patient’s needs. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1990, and served as Programs Chair for the American Medical Writers Association from 2004 to 2006.

Anne lives in Sunnyvale with her husband Jim. She enjoys equestrian sports, reading, and gardening, and competes locally with her horse Atlas in jumping and eventing competitions.

Elizabeth Baker

Elizabeth Baker, PT, DPT

Elizabeth earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2005. She graduated from University California San Diego with a B.S. in Animal Physiology/ Neuroscience in 1999 and went on to conduct research for a biotechnology company before discovering her passion for PT. Elizabeth worked for a local hospital for the past 5 years and is excited to be the newest member of Cupertino Physical Therapy, Inc. joining the team in 2010. In addition to her experience in outpatient orthopedics, cardiac rehab, acute inpatient hospital care, she has also specialized in neurological conditions including: Spinal cord injury, brain injury, and stroke rehabilitation.

Elizabeth has served as a Clinical Instructor and enjoys mentoring and teaching physical therapy students and interns. She is a credentialed Clinical Instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

After performing a comprehensive evaluation, Elizabeth designs an individualized therapy plan for each client, utilizing a variety of techniques to facilitate improved quality of movement and function while decreasing pain. Elizabeth believes that the client's participation with exercises leads to quicker and better outcomes.

Elizabeth currently lives in Santa Clara with her husband. They enjoy many activities together including: Hiking, sailing, camping/backpacking, traveling, SCUBA diving, racing their rally-x car, and spending time with their family and friends.

Carol Capper

Carol Capper, MPT

Carol earned her Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Regis University in Denver in 1998.  She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  She has worked in outpatient orthopedics since 1999, and joined the staff at Cupertino Physical Therapy in October of 2007.

Carol has been a clinical instructor for physical therapy student interns from CSU Fresno’s physical therapy program, and she enjoys teaching.  Before becoming a physical therapist, she also played and coached women’s field hockey at the college level. 

Areas of special interest for Carol include sports rehabilitation, neurovascular entrapment issues, and working with the geriatric population.  She has taken numerous postgraduate professional courses.  She believes that a thorough evaluation and customized treatment program are important in helping patients regain function and optimal health. 

Carol lives in Sunnyvale with her husband and their two sons.  She is an active member of Las Madres, and she enjoys hiking, skydiving, and playing ice hockey in her spare time. 

Mai E. Vu

Mai E. Vu

Mai is the Office Manager at Cupertino Physical Therapy. Mai graduated from De Anza College, and is currently enrolled in pre-requisite classes at Evergreen Valley College in South San Jose in preparation for her registered nursing degree. Mai joined Cupertino Physical Therapy in 2006, bringing widespread experience from her previous work in outpatient physical therapy and other clinical settings.

Mai’s lifelong ambition is to become a health professional in the medical field, and she looks forward to providing direct patient care as an RN. Her passion is to help others improve their health and maintain wellness, which gives her daily motivation to continue expanding her clinical successes. Mai is responsible, swift, and kind with patients and strives to make them feel comfortable and well cared for.

A Bay Area native, Mai resides in Santa Clara with her fiance Royce. She enjoys attending football, baseball, and basketball games and loves going to the gym, playing volleyball, snowboarding, cooking, and spending quality time with her family.
